June is a fun month
and we’ve got plenty of reasons to celebrate.
A few of the unique reasons to celebrate just about everything during the month of June;
This is Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month
so make it a point to enjoy the Third Street Farmers Market beginning June 9th.
It’s National Adopt a Cat Month so make sure to visit the Carson City Animal Shelter to adopt a cat in need of a permanent home. Or, call Susan Paul at the Carson Tahoe SPCA to match you with a special friend.
Hug Your Cat Day is June 4th with a Take Your Dog to Work Day on the 23rd.
It’s Rose Month, so be sure to stop by Greenhouse Garden Center
to adopt a rose bush that will bloom for years to come. June 12th has been designated as Red Rose Day.
Foodies will love June:
1st is National Doughnut Day, 2nd is National Rocky Road Day, 4th is Applesauce Cake Day,
the 7th is National Chocolate Ice Cream Day, the 10th is Iced Tea Day;
Fresh Veggie Day is the 16th followed by
Eat Your Vegetables Day on the 17th (they would have to throw those in!);
Ice Cream Soda Day is on the 20th coinciding with the first day of summer and the Chamber Mixer at Southwest Gas followed by National Chocolate Éclair Day on the 22th.
Be sure to get your teeth cleaned in anticipation of National Smile Power Day on the 15th
and be sure to wear pink on the 23rd for National Pink Day!
Show your patriotism on Flag Day, June 14th by putting out your flag and wearing red, white and blue.
Remember to honor Dad on June 17th.
