Leadership Carson City

The Chamber Leadership Institute is now in its 36th year. Applications are open for the 2027 Class.

Leadership Carson City is one of the Chamber's most important programs. It is designed to create leaders from the business community who will ensure the smooth transition of power from one group of leaders to another.

Leadership is for those new to our city — the salesperson, the new business owner, the budding entrepreneur. It is equally for those who have lived or worked here a long time: we can become creatures of habit and rarely travel out of our comfort zones. Leadership is about stretching those boundaries and creating new opportunities.

Leadership is about you. Become one of the select few who can make a huge difference in our community.

What past classes say

Colleen Chapman

The Leadership Institute was such a wonderful experience! I've made lifelong friends and met many people who are doing great things and making a difference in the community. I always loved learning new things on field trips as a kid — this is the adult version, with a bonus of networking. The behind-the-scenes tours were fascinating. Now, I feel so connected to Carson City, and I'm committed to making this town even better!

Chris Holland

Carson City Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute was such an inspirational and eye-opening experience as it pulled back the curtain on not just the local government of Carson City but all of the things that make our city great. It was incredible to see how many passionate people we have working and advocating here. The relationships I developed with my classmates is just so invaluable.

Haley Jones

I feel like I am walking around Carson City with a new outlook. I can see the passion and dedication from every person who I've met throughout this program.

Allie Lombardi

I would just like to say thank you to Ronni, my fellow classmates and everyone involved in this year's class for such a great experience. It is really the people in this community that make Carson City so special.

Dawn Beck

Our Leadership group truly pulled together to make a difference for our community with our project. It was very interesting in that it showed us the “inside” of Carson City, and what actually makes the city work. It sparked my interest in many different avenues one can become involved to make a difference in our community.

Kris Wickstead

Leadership Carson City brought key elements of our city together with exposure to its dynamic leaders. I gained tremendous insight into the City and its history while improving my own leadership skills at the same time.

Jason Woodbury

A tremendous program. I would have never known (or guessed) the truly amazing things going on in Carson City. Made me even more proud to call this community home.

Roberta Harris

I really enjoyed being in the Leadership program. Going behind the scenes in Carson City is the best way to truly learn about the city's government, parks, and services. I also met some wonderful people and had some experiences that I will never forget.
